Batatayachi Bhaji Maharashtrian Recipe #YumUtsav Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Going back to basics with a super simple festive batatyachi bhaji, which can be made in no time with only a handful of ingredients. This quick recipe is a must have on the YUMUtsav list.

BATATYACHI BHAJI

Ingredients

4 medium potatoes, boiled, peeled and cut into 1 inch pieces
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
tspasafoetida (hing)
2-3 green chillies, broken
tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp split skinless black gram
Salt to taste
tsp sugar
1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander leaves + for garnish
1 tsp lemon juice

Method

1. Heat oil in a non-stick kadai, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add asafoetida, green chillies, and turmeric powder. Add split skinless black gram and saut for a few seconds.
2. Add potatoes, salt and sugar and mix well. Add coriander leaves, switch off the heat and add lemon juice and mix.
3. Transfer the bhaji into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
