How to Make Puerto Rican Ganimes Criollo Kitchen with Csar Prez

GUANIMES:
In this episode of Criollo Kitchen, Csar Prez whips up some Puerto Rican Ganimes- a type of corn dumpling wrapped in banana leaves, boiled, and served as a side dish or on their own. If you see banana leaves at the store- snag a pack and try these at home!

"Ganimes, also known as ganimos, are a Pre-Columbian corn dumpling from Puerto Rico rooted in the culinary traditions of the Tanothe indigenous people of the Caribbean. As a close cousin of tamales and hallacas, ganimes are regaining popularity in modern-day Puerto Rican cuisine. While most commonly prepared with cornmeal and coconut milk, there are variations made with plantains and other tropical tubers. Youll usually find these served alongside bacalao guisado, a saucy stewed salted cod dish, but they pair beautifully with any stewed protein." ~Csar
