Masala Puri | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Crispy puris stuffed with boiled potatoes, white peas mixture, spice mix and sev. Must try recipe !

MASALA PURI

Ingredients

1½ cups dried white peas, soaked and drained
4 medium potatoes, boiled and peeled
12-16 puris
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons roasted cumin seeds (jeera), coarsely crushed
1 teaspoon chaat masala
Black salt to taste
Nylon sev for sprinkling
Chopped fresh coriander leaves for sprinkling

Method

1. Pressure cook dried white peas with turmeric powder and salt in sufficient water till fully done.
2. Cut potatoes into small pieces.
3. Mix together cumin seeds, chaat masala and black salt in a bowl.
4. Add little water to pressure cooked white peas, mix well and bring to a boil.
5. Crack the top portion of puris and fill with some potato pieces and some cooked white peas. Sprinkle some spice mix, sev and coriander leaves on top.
6. Serve immediately.
