It looked decadent, delicious, filled not only with golden cashews but with brimming love too! Over the years my mother managed to learn the technique of making Akkaravadisal and I too kept making it in my home. So today I happily share the recipe of the traditional Akkaravadisal.AkkaravadisalIngredients:Raw rice - 1 cupMung dal - cupJaggery powder - 1 cupsSugar - 1 cupsMilk - 6 cupsGhee - as reqd Saffron soaked in few drops of milk or cardamomCashews - as required Method:Wash rice and dal wellAdd 2 cups of milk and 3 cups water and pressure the rice and dal together till softNow mash the cooked rice and dal wellTransfer to a thick Kadai and start adding hot milk to the rice dal mixLower the flame and keeping incorporating the milk wellWhen the milk is well absorbed and everything is quite thick, add the jaggery and sugarStart combining everything together over medium flameWhen the mix is thick again, add ghee as much as required individually Now add the saffron soaked in few drops of milk Toss and mix everything together Fry cashews in some ghee and garnish the Akkaravadisal with itEnjoy the divine dessert Akkaravadisal with your friends and family#venkateshbhat #yogambalsundar
