It is popular in many parts of Kerala and is often consumed as a refreshing energy drink. I have customised aval milk recipe into a more healthier beverage using thooyamalli rice flakes and kakvi (liquid jaggery) for sweetness instead of sugar, and replaced dairy milk with almond milk. The flakes helps to keep you fuller for a long time along with its nutritious properties. You can increase or decrease jaggery as per taste. The plant based milk help to enjoy this drink by those who has dairy milk allergies. INGREDIENTS:
2-3 kerala ripe plantains
1 tbsp kakvi (liquid jaggery)
1 cup of plant based milk of your choice
Peanuts as needed
3 tbsp Sprouted Ragi Flakes
NOTE: You can use kerala (red rice) matta aval instead of thooyamalli rice flakes
Can use dairy milk instead of plant based milk.
