Baked Bean Sandwich | Tiffin Treats by Roopa Nabar | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Slice of bread topped with cooked beans and grated cheese and cover with second slice grilled it.

BAKED BEAN SANDWICH

Ingredients

1 cup baked beans
8 brown bread slices
1 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 small green capsicum, finely chopped
Salt to taste
Black pepper powder to taste
2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
Butter as required
Grated processed cheese as required
Apple for serving

Method

1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Add onion and sauté on high heat till translucent.
2. Add capsicum and sauté for 1 minute. Add baked beans, mix and cook on high heat for 2 minutes.
3. Add salt and pepper powder, mix and cook for 1 minute. Add tomato ketchup, mix and cook for 1 minute or till it thickens. Transfer in a bowl and cool.
4. Preheat an electric griller.
5. Apply some butter on one side of each bread slice.
6. To prepare one sandwich, spread some baked bean mixture and some cheese on the butter side of one bread slice.
7. Grease the preheated griller with some butter, place the sandwich and cover with another bread slice with butter side downwards. Cover the griller and toast till golden from both sides.
8. Serve hot with an apple.
