BOX PATTICE | बॉक्स पैटीज़

Ingredients

200 grams boneless chicken breasts
8-10 samosa pattis
Salt to taste
¼ bunch fresh coriander leaves
2 green chillies
2 tbsps butter
2 tbsps refined flour (maida)
1 cup milk
1 tsp mustard paste
A dash of soy sauce
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
¼ tsp dried oregano
A pinch of paprika
Black pepper powder to taste
Grated mozzarella cheese as required
Refined flour slurry for brushing
Beaten eggs as required
Dried bread crumbs for coating
Oil for deep frying
Dip
¼ cup green chutney
½ cup mayonnaise


Method

1. Boil water in a deep pan, add salt and chicken. Cook for 5-6 minutes, take them out and shred them using a fork. Set aside.
2. Finely chop coriander and finely chop green chillies and set aside.
3. For the stuffing, heat butter in a non-stick wok, add refined flour and whisk well. Add milk and whisk well. Cook till the mixture thickens.
4. Add shredded chicken in the pan and mix well. Add mustard paste, soy sauce and garlic powder, onion powder and mix well.
5. Add dried oregano and paprika powder, black pepper powder, and add chopped green chilli and coriander and mix well.
6. Add salt and mix well. Take the pan off the heat.
7. Transfer the prepared mixture on a plate and allow to cool completely.
8. Take one samosa patti horizontally on a worktop and place another samosa patti vertically to form a cross.
9. Place a portion of the stuffing in the center and add a little mozzarella cheese and top it up with a little more of the prepared stuffing. Fold one side, brush refined flour slurry on top and fold another side. Repeat the process till a parcel is formed. Set aside.
10. Dip each parcel into beaten eggs and roll on bread crumbs to coat all over.
11. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai, deep fry the parcels till golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
12. For the dip, take green chutney in a bowl and add mayonnaise, mix well.
13. Serve the pattice hot with prepared chutney.
