Chilli Basil Fish | Cooksmart | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

A lip smacking combination of marinated fish cubes stir fried with chillies and fresh basil. You will definitely enjoy this spicy and flavourful dish.

CHILL BASIL FISH

Ingredients

2 boneless fillets of basa fish, cut into 1-inch cubes
2 fresh red chillies
20-25 fresh basil leaves
5 tbsps oil
2 medium onions
¾ medium red capsicum
Salt to taste
2 tsps cornstarch
¼ tsp crushed red chillies
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
½ tsp crushed black peppercorns
2 tsps oyster sauce

Method

1. Heat 3 tbsps oil in a non-stick pan. Cut onions into cubes, separate layers and add to the pan.
2. Cut red capsicum into ½ inch pieces and add to the pan and saute for 2-3 minutes.
3. Place fish in a bowl, add salt, cornstarch, crushed red chillies, ginger-garlic paste and mix well.
4. Transfer onion-red capsicum into a bowl.
5. Heat 2 tbsps oil in the same pan.
6. Crush fresh red chillies.
7. Put fish pieces, one by one, into the pan. Sprinkle crushed black peppercorns over them and cook for 2 minutes
8. Add red chillies minus the seeds. Add oyster sauce and basil leaves. Add onion-red capsicum mixture and mix well.
9. Sprinkle a little salt and mix and cook for 1 minute.
10. Transfer into a serving plate and serve hot.
