Parupusili is a pride of Tamilnadu cuisine and it makes a regal presence in all important celebrations. However Parupusili generally involves a laborious process of soaking and grinding which would diminish the enthusiasm to make it regularly. But this readymade or Instant Parupusili Mix makes life easy. So without further delay, hop onto the recipe.
Instant Parupusili
Ingredients for the Instant Parupusili Mix:
Tur dal - 1 cup
Chana dal - 1 cup
Mung dal - cup
Red chillies - 6 or 8
Method:
Grind all the above ingredients to a powder thats not too fine
Store in an airtight container to make Parupusili whenever you feel like
Ingredients to make Parupusili:
Instant mix - 1 cup
Mix veg or any veg of choice - 1 cup or as reqd
Til oil or any refined oil - few tbsps
Mustard seeds - tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Asaefotida - tsp or as per taste
Method:
Chop vegetables of choice and keep aside
Adding water little by little make a soft dough of the Instant Parupusili Mix and add salt to taste
Steam both Parupusili mix and the chopped vegetables in separate dishes in rice cooker or pressure cooker
Take out the lightly steamed Parupusili mix and toss till it crumbles
Heat oil in a heavy Kadai
Splutter mustard
Add urad dal and allow to turn golden
Add asaefotida
Add the crumbling steamed Parupusili mix
Stir fry together over medium flame
Now add the steamed vegetables and toss everything together
Switch off flame and enjoy the yummy Instant Parupusili with friends and family
