Paan Chocolate Mousse | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Chocolate mousse flavoured with paan and served with whipped cream

PAAN CHOCOLATE MOUSSE

Ingredients

2 tablespoons paan filling
1 cup chopped milk chocolate
4 tablespoons castor sugar
3 egg yolks
¼ cup warm milk
2 cups whipped cream
Dark chocolate chips for sprinkling

Method

1. Heat some water in a deep non-stick pan and bring to boil. Place a large glass bowl on top. Add castor sugar and egg yolks and whisk continuously till it achieves ribbon consistency. Remove from heat.
2. Add milk to egg yolk mixture and whisk well.
3. Melt chocolate in a microwave for 30 seconds, add it to egg yolk mixture and whisk well. Add paan filling and mix well.
4. Transfer ½ of egg yolk mixture in another bowl. Add whipped cream and fold. Add remaining egg yolk mixture and fold well. Pour into individual serving glasses and refrigerate for 1 hour.
5. Fill a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle with whipped cream and pipe out on the edge of mousse. Sprinkle some chocolate chips in the center and serve immediately.
