Bay leaf, 1 inch Cinnamon stick, Salt to taste, 3-4 cups Water, tsp Turmeric powder, tsp Degi red chili powder, 2-3 tbsp Ghee, For Masala 1 tbsp Coriander seeds, 4-5 no. Black cardamom, 1 heaped tbsp Black peppercorns, 1 tsp Cumin seeds, 6-7 no. Cloves, 1 no. Mace, 4-5 no. Green cardamom, tsp Carom seeds, tsp Asafoetida, 2-3 no. Bedgi red chili, 1 tbsp dry Pomegranate seeds, 1 tbsp dry Fenugreek leaves, Salt to taste, For Punjabi Chole2 tbsp Oil, 1 tbsp Ghee, 1 tsp Cumin seeds, 2-4 no. Garlic cloves, inch Ginger (peeled & chopped) 3-4 medium Onions, grated, 3-4 no.
