Rava Pongal:
Ingredients:
Rava - 1 cup
Moong dal - cup
Black pepper - tsp
Jeera - 1 tsp
Ginger - 1 inch
Green chillies - 1
Ghee - cup or as reqd
Cashews - as reqd
Turmeric powder - tsp
Asaefotida - tsp
Salt to taste
Method:
Pressure cook moong dal till soft and keep aside
Then, chop ginger finely and keep aside
Slit the green chilli and keep aside
Heat some ghee in a heavy kadai
Sim flame
Add cashews and fry till light golden
Add the black pepper and cumin seeds and let jeera fry a bit
Add the chopped ginger and stir fry everything together
Now add the Rava and roast till golden or till flavour emanates
Add 2 cups of boiling water
Mix everything well
Add the mashed cooked moong dal
Add 1 more cup of hot water and add salt to taste
Toss and mix everything well together
Add asaefotida and mix well
Add curry leaves too and mix well
Finally add green chillies too and mix together
Your most yummy Rava Pongal Ready
