Simple Palak Dal | Indian Recipe | Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana

Boiled moong dal tempered with mild spices and shredded spinach leaves.

SIMPLE PALAK DAL

Ingredients

2 cupsshredded spinach leaves (palak)
2 cups skinless green gram (moongdal), pressure cooked with a pinch of turmeric powder
1 tablespoon ghee
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
A pinch asafoetida
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 teaspoon chopped green chillies
Salt to taste

Method

1. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida and sauté till fragrant. Add garlic and green chillies and sauté for a minute.
2. Add green gram and mix well. Add salt and some water, mix and bring to boil.
3. Add spinach, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes.
4. Serve hot.

Preparation Time: 5-8 minutes
Cooking Time:15-20 minutes
