Gobindobhog rice

Sona Moong Dal

Potato (One, cut into small cubes)

Cauliflower florets



Green peas , blanched

Cumin Seeds

Cardamom whole

Cinnamon

Cloves

Dried red chillies

Bay Leaf

Ginger paste

Grated coconut

Turmeric powder

Cumin powder

Salt to taste

Sugar as per taste

Green Chillies

Ghee

Vegetable oil

Garam Masala

Cashew nuts

Method

1. Rinse the rice with fresh water and soak in a bowl for at least 30 minutes

2. In a pan take the Dal and roast on low heat, stirring continuously. Keep the roasted dal in a bowl and let it cool down

3. Heat a pan and add half of the ghee and the oil. Add all the whole spices and fry them on low heat till they release aroma.

4. Add the ginger paste and fry till the raw smell goes away. Add turmeric and cumin powder and mix well.

5. Now add the green chilly and mix well for about 3 to 4 minutes. Add warm water if required.

6. Add the vegetables and mix well with the masala mix.

7. Once the masala is mixed well with the veggies add the dal and saut for 3 to 4 minutes.

8. Now add the rice and mix well with the veggies and the masala mix with a light hand.

9. Add salt and sugar and mix well

10. Now add water, mix well and put a lid on the pan and let it cook for about 10 mintes

11. Open the lid after 10 minutes and check if the veggies are cooked.

12. Add the rest of the ghee and garam masala powder and switch off the gas
