Rinse the rice with fresh water and soak in a bowl for at least 30 minutes2. In a pan take the Dal and roast on low heat, stirring continuously. Keep the roasted dal in a bowl and let it cool down3. Heat a pan and add half of the ghee and the oil. Add all the whole spices and fry them on low heat till they release aroma.4. Add the ginger paste and fry till the raw smell goes away. Add turmeric and cumin powder and mix well.5. Now add the green chilly and mix well for about 3 to 4 minutes. Add warm water if required.6. Add the vegetables and mix well with the masala mix.7. Once the masala is mixed well with the veggies add the dal and saut for 3 to 4 minutes.8. Now add the rice and mix well with the veggies and the masala mix with a light hand.9. Add salt and sugar and mix well10. Now add water, mix well and put a lid on the pan and let it cook for about 10 mintes11. Open the lid after 10 minutes and check if the veggies are cooked.12.
