Did you know that the original banana, the Gros Michel, aka The Big Mike was nearly decimated by Panama disease and was replaced with the Cavendish, our present-day banana? Today I'll be tasting the Gros Michel along with a couple other varieties thanks to my friends over at Miami Fruits. And because I have so many bananas, I'm making a popular Swedish casserole called The Flying Jacob that combines chicken and bananas.
