1. In a large pot of boiling water, cook the asparagus until just crisp tender, about 3 minutes. 2. Arrange on a broilerproof platter. 3. Preheat broiler. 4. Beat butter in a medium bowl until fluffy. 5. Beat in cheese, basil, garlic and lemon juice. 6. Season. 7. Drop butter mixture by teaspoonfuls over asparagus. 8.
