Assamese Cuisine: Chicken With Sesame Seeds


1. Wash the chicken.

2. Heat a deep bottomed vessel and put the oil.

3. saute the onions and chillies till they turn golden brown.

4. Add the chickens.

5. Add salt and turmeric according to taste.

6. Saute and cover with the lid.

7. Keep the heat minimum.

8. After 5 minutes, add the cumin powder and ginger garlic paste.

9. Mix well and cover with the lid again.

10. Cook for 15 minutes or till the chicken is almost done on low heat.

11. Stir occasionally.

12. Meanwhile, make paste of the soaked sesame seeds.

13. As the chicken is almost done, add the sesame paste and mix well.

14. Add One glass of water and bring it to boil.

15. Cover with the lid.

16. Cook till the water dries up.

17. Adjust the salt and voila! Your exotic chicken dish is ready.
