1. Mix all the ingredients together except the sauerkraut. 2. Shape the mixture into 6 patties, each about 3/4-inch thick. 3. Brown the patties in a large skillet over medium heat, turning once. 4. Drain off the excess fat. 5. Spoon the sauerkraut onto the patties. 6. Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes. 7. Serve openfaced on good, crusty buns.
