1. - Saute onion and garlic in olive oil in large sauce pan. 2. - Add beef to brown, after almost cooked mash with potato hand masher until finely ground 3. - Pour in canned tomatoes with juice. 4. - Add all spices 5. - Simmer 20 minutes while rice cooks. 6. - Add sherry last five minutes. 7. Rice: 8. - Saute vermicelli in butter. 9. - After it has browned add rice and water and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. 10. - Cover and cook till soft, you may need to add more water. 11. - When done, serve beef over rice. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
