1. Cut bread at a angle about 1 1/2 -2 inches thick. 2. Mix eggs, milk, vanilla, flour, salt and butter together. 3. Heat skillet with small amount of oil. 4. Coat each slice of bread well. 5. Cook 2-3 minutes per side. 6. Serve with some powder sugar sprinkled over the top of the french toast. Serve with maple syrup.
