1. Brown ground beef in an large pan or skillet. 2. Add onion, celery, garlic and peppers (optional). 3. Saute 5 minutes. 4. Drain grease, I pour my into a large colander. 5. Add chili powder, start with 1 T, you can always add more later! 6. Add salt and pepper. 7. Pour in all the tomatoes and drained kidney beans. 8. Cook 2-3 hours to let the flavor develop. 9. Add in more chili powder if you desire. 10. Stir the cornmeal and water together and mix into the chili to thicken. 11. Serve with your favorite toppings - ours are Fritos, onions and shredded cheddar! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
