1. Mix flours, conrmeal, baking powder, saltand soda in a large bowl 2. stir in buttermilk, molasses, shortening and raisins until very well mixed. 3. Spoon batter into 4 well greased1 pound vegetable or fruit cans. 4. Cover with foil and tie with a string. 5. Place cans on rack in a dutch oven or large saucepan. 6. pour boiling water until halfways up sides of cans. 7. cover and simmer for 3 hours. 8. pour in more water if nessacary. 9. remove from dutch oven and remove foil. 10. cool in cans for 10 minutes then invert cans. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
