Buttermilk Nut Loaf


1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

2. In a large bowl, sift together baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and white flour.

3. Add the whole-wheat flour and sift again.

4. Add the brown sugar.

5. In another bowl, beat egg until light; mix in the buttermilk and melted butter.

6. Add to dry mixture.

7. Stir in the nuts.

8. Pour into a buttered and lightly floured 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.

9. Bake for 1 hour.
