1. Melt butter in a medium saucepan, and add the carrots. 2. Stir well to cover with the butter. 3. Add the sugar and salt, and mix well. 4. Stir in the marsala, and simmer for 4-5 minutes. 5. Pour enough water to barely cover the carrots. 6. Cover the pan and cook over low to moderate heat until the carrots are tender. 7. Remove the cover, and cook until the liquids reduce almost completely. 8. Serve hot. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
