1. PASTRY CRUST: 2. Sift the all purpose flour into a mixing bowl. 3. Combine with the corn oil, butter and a dash of salt. 4. Mix well until the texture resembles bread crumbs. 5. Add the cold water, and mix well to form a dough. 6. Knead lightly and refrigerate for 20 minutes. 7. FILLING: 8. Chop the onions into cubes. 9. In a frying pan, saute the onions in butter. 10. Set aside. 11. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs well. 12. Add the cream and grated gruyere cheese and mix well. 13. QUICHE: 14. Roll out the pastry dough in an 8-inch round baking dish. 15. Spread the fried onions on the bottom of the pastry crust. 16. Pour in the egg and cheese mixture. 17. Bake in a preheated oven for approximately half an hour, until the filling has set. 18.
