1. Combine the water,, oats, cherries and salt in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. 2. Reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes or until desired consistency, stirring occasionally. 3. Remove from heat. 4. Stir in 3 tablespoons sugar, 1 tablespoon nuts, and cinnamon. 5. Place 1 cup oatmeal in each of 6 bowls; sprinkle each serving with 1 teaspoon sugar. 6.
