Chinese Savory Beef


1. Heat oil in Dutch Oven. Fry beef until brown. Add onions, garlic and ginger. Stir-Fry a few minutes. Add Soy Sauce, brown sugar, pepper and water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 3 hours. Add more liquid, if needed. Just before serving, thicken with a small amount of flour or corn starch. Serve over rice or noodles.

2. OPTIONAL: 30 minutes before serving, add 1/2 lb of vegetables. Mushrooms, green pepper, carrots and peas all work well.
