Chocolate Cake With Pecan Caramel Sauce


1. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs, sugar, oil and milk.

2. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt, and gradually add this mixture to the egg mixture; mix well.

3. Stir in vanilla, and transfer to an 8" square baking pan.

4. Bake at 350F for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

5. Cool on a wire rack.

6. In a heavy saucepan, combine caramels and water.

7. Cook over low heat until smooth, stirring constantly.

8. Add pecans, and cool slightly.

9. Cut cake into squares, and drizzle with warm sauce.
