1. beat butter, essence and sugars in a small bowl until light and fluffy with an electric mixer. 2. beat in egg. 3. stir in sifted flours, choc chips, nuts and milk. 4. drop level tsps of mixture onto lightly greased trays. 5. press with a fork lightly. 6. bake for 12 minutes. 7. stand 5 minutes. 8. turn onto rack to cool. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
