1. In a bowl and using a whisk or electric mixer, beat brown sugar, pumpkin, milk, oil, egg and vanilla. 2. In another bowl, stir together flour, oats, dates, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger and allspice. With a wooden spoon, stir the mixture into the pumpkin mixture just until everything is combined. Pour the batter into a prepared dish. 3. Bake in the centre of the oven for 25 or 30 minutes or until a tester inserted into the centre comes out dry.
