1. In heavy saucepan, heat butter and water over med-low heat until butter melts. 2. Remove from heat and stir in flour. 3. Return to med-low heat and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. 4. Remove from heat and cool. 5. Add the eggs, 3 at a time, beating well after each addition. 6. Stir in a dash of salt. 7. Drop dumplings into boiling soup. 8.
