1. In a Dutch oven cook meat onion, green pepper, & garlic till meat is brown & vegetables are tender. 2. Drain off fat. 3. Stir in UNDRAINED tomatoes, tomato paste, brown sugar, oregano, salt, basil thyme, & bay leaf. 4. Bring to boiling & then reduce heat. 5. Simmer, uncovered for 1 1/2 - 2 hrs or till sauce is of desired consistency, stirring occasionally. 6. Remove bay leaf. 7.
