1. heat oil in medium saucepan. 2. whisk in flour until smooth. 3. stir in spices, cook 1 minute. 4. whisk in broth until smooth. 5. add the tomato sauce, and salt and cayenne pepper to taste. 6. bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer about 15 minutes. 7. this is wonderful made a day ahead, the flavors combine even more. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
