1. Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl. 2. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat again. 3. Sift in the flour and fold through. 4. Grease a 1 litre microwave safe bowl. 5. Add the syrup to the bowl and gently spoon the cake mixture over the top. 6. Cover bowl with cling wrap. 7. Place bowl on an upside down microwave safe plate and cook at 60% heat for 7 minutes. 8.
