German Chocolate Pie Filling


1. Heat milk to scald.

2. Mix sugar, salt and cornstarch in a bowl,add dry ingredients to milk and stir constantly.

3. Add one cup of hot mixture to egg yolks and stir.

4. Add back to remaining milk and bring back to boiling for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

5. Cook until thick.

6. Add unmelted butter, vanilla, coconut, chocolate chips and pecans.

7. Stir until one color.

8. Cool shortly and put into 9-inch baked pie shell.

9. *****Topping*****.

10. Mix whipping cream with chocolate syrup to color.

11. Add coconut and pecans.

12. Pile high on pie.

13. Decorate with chocolate syrup.
