Ghos Pilaau


1. Cook meat with salt, pepper, spices and green chillies till tender (using only sufficient water).

2. Boil chana dal in salted water till done.

3. Drain.

4. Boil rice.

5. In a heavy bottomed vessel, fry a little sliced onion with jeera powder in ghee.

6. Be sure to save a little onion for decoration on top.

7. Add rice to the browned onion with the cooked meat and dhal and gently toss together to ensure even distribution.

8. Pour another tablespoon of ghee over the top with the remaining onions.

9. Sprinkle a few tablespoons of water.

10. Steam till done.
