Grandma Luzzi'S Lasagna


1. Meat Sauce: Skillet and slow cooker needed.

2. 1: Mix sausage and ground beef together evenly and brown in large skillet.

3. 2: Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, water, basil, fennel. Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, half the parsley, and the browned meat mixture to a slow cooker.

4. 3: Cook on low for 1.5 hours stirring occasionally.

5. Pre-Heat oven to 375°F.

6. Cheeses: 2 bowls needed.

7. 1: in one bowl combine ricotta, Parmesan, Asiago, remaining parsley, and egg. add milk as needed to get an easily spread cheese paste.

8. 2: in second bowl combine mozzarella and provolone.

9. Assembly: lasagna pan needed.

10. 1: spread 1.5 cups of meat sauce in the bottom of lasagna pan.

11. 2: Arrange noodles over meat sauce.

12. 3: Spread with one half of the ricotta cheese mixture.

13. 4: Top with half the mozzarella/provolone mix.

14. 5: repeat 1 - 4.

15. Bake.

16. 1: Cover pan with foil (spray foil with cooking spay to avoid sticking if desired).

17. 2: Bake for 25 minute.

18. 3: Remove foil and continue baking for 25 minute.

19. Cool 15 min before cutting and serving.
