1. Mix the butter in a bowl with the flour, eggs, sugar, milk, zest, and baking powder. 2. Mix together with a wooden spoon and pour into a greased and lined 20cm square cake tin. 3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180C/160C fan/gas mark 4 for 45 minutes until cooked. 4. For the syrup, dissolve the juice and sugar in a saucepan over a gentle heat. Whilst the cake is still warm, drizzle over the top. 5. When cooled, halve the cake and sandwich together with half of the cream.
