Gretchen'S Swedish Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies


1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

2. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat slightly to combine.

3. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and cocoa. Add to batter gradually. Then stir in the oatmeal.

4. Roll cookie dough into balls and then place on baking sheet.

5. Using a buttered glass dipped into decorative sugars, press lightly to spread into more of a cookie shape. (These cookies spread while baking, so be sure not to crowd the tray.).

6. Bake in the middle of the oven for 8-10 minutes.
