Hearty Italian Sandwiches


1. In a large skillet, brown the beef and sausage; drain.

2. Place into the slow cooker, 1/3 of the onions, 1/3 of the peppers and top with 1/2 of the meat; repeat; top with remaining 1/3 of the onions and peppers.

3. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and pepper flakes.

4. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or until vegetables are tender.

5. Using a slotted spoon, spoon meat/vegetable mixture on each roll.

6. Sprinkle cheese on top of meat/vegetable mixture if desired.

7. Use pan juices for dipping.
