Heather'S Lasagna


1. In a large frying pan brown sausage and ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain.

2. Stir in the next 10 ingredients into meat mixture.

3. Simmer 1 1/2 hours over low heat.

4. Mix ricotta cheese with egg, salt, parsley and nutmeg.

5. Make layers by 1st using 1 1/2 cups meat mixture on bottom of 9x13 casserole dish. Followed by 3-4 noodles, 1/2 of the ricotta cheese mixture, 1/3 of the mozzarella (1/4 lb.), 1 1/2 c meat, 1/4 c Parmesan. Repeat layers.

6. Top with remaining cheeses.

7. Bake, covered at 375° for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 25 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes.
