1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. 2. Mix all cake ingredients (up to and including the pecans) together in a large bowl. 3. Pour the mixture into a greased and floured tube pan. 4. Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until a thin knife or toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. 5. For the Caramel Sauce: Stir all ingredients (below the pecans) in a saucepan on medium heat. Bring to a gentle boil and cook, stirring constantly until thickened, about 5 minutes.
