1. 1. In large, heavy stockpot, heat up olive oil 2. 2. Add onions and garlic to saute'. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally until onions are softened. 3. 3. Take out sauteed onions and garlic & brown the sausage (out of casing). 4. 4. Once meat is browned add garlic and onions back in pot. 5. 5. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce and water. 6. 6. Add basil, parsley, brown sugar, salt, crushed red pepper, and black pepper. 7. 7. Stir well and barely bring to a boil. 8. 8. Stir in red wine and splash of beer. 9. 9. Stir in Flour & Parmesan cheese (for added thickness). 10. 10. Simmer on low, stirring frequently for at least an 1 1/2 hours A longer simmer makes for a better sauce, just be careful not to let it burn! 11. 11. Cook spaghetti according to package directions. 12. 12.
