Japanese American Teriyaki Sauce


1. Peel and smash the garlic.

2. Chop the onions into large-ish pieces. Slice the pieces length-wise to maximize flavor.

3. Put all ingredients into a small saucepan.

4. Heat to a boil.

5. Cover and let simmer on low for 45 minutes or until sauce is thick.

6. Discard the garlic, onions, and ginger.

7. Best served chilled.
