1. Place stout and butter in medium saucepan over medium head and bring to simmer. Which in cocoa powder until mixture is smooth. 2. Thoroughly combine flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. In another bowl, beat together eggs and sour cream until well-blended. Add stout-chocolate mixture to egg mixture and beat just to combine. 3. Add flour mixture and beat briefly on slow speed. 4. Finish mixing by folding batter with a spatula until completely combined. Pour batter in greased, floured springform pan. 5. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 40 minutes (or until inserted toothpick comes out clean) and let cool for 10 minutes before removing side of the pan. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
