1. Dissolve yeast in milk, which has been cooled to lukewarm, with 1/2 the sugar. 2. Add 1 1/2 cups flour; mix together. 3. Let set until bubbles appear. 4. Add the eggs, shortening, remaining sugar, salt, and milk. 5. Beat well. 6. Gradually add rest of flour, a small amount at time, mixing well until smooth and elastic. 7. Cover and place in a warm spot. 8. Let rise until doubled. 9. When dough is light, stir with a spoon. 10. Let rise again. 11. Shape into small balls. 12. Put in greased pans. 13. Brush top with melted shortening. 14. Rrise in a warm place. 15. Make indention in center of each. 16. Fill with 1 tablespoon of filling. 17. Let rise until double, about 10 minutes. 18.
