1. Heat milk over medium heat, but do not boil. 2. Stir in poppy seeds; set aside. 3. Combine flour, baking soda and nutmeg. 4. Cream together butter, lemon and maple syrup. 5. Gradually stir in dry ingredients. Blend well. 6. Add poppy seed/milk mixture and blend thoroughly. 7. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto unoiled cookie sheets and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
