1. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. 2. Add onions and garlic. 3. Cook 5 minutes, stirring frequently. 4. Add stewed tomatoes, basil, and pepper; bring to boiling. 5. Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. 6. Stir in milk and continue to simmer 5 minutes more. 7. While sauce is cooking, prepare linguine according to package directions; drain. 8.
