Not German Apple Cake


1. Place chopped apples in lightly salted water while preparing the batter.

2. Beat together oil and white and brown sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, until well blended.

3. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to egg-sugar mixture, mixing well.

4. Stir in well drained apples, nuts, and vanilla.

5. Spread evenly into lightly oiled and floured bundt or tube type pan.

6. Bake at 325 for 1 1/2 hours or until done. Cool in pan 20 minutes. Turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

7. To make glaze, mix all glaze ingredients in a small sauce pot and bring to a boil. Boil 1 minute. Cool slightly, spread over cake.
