1. In a sauce pan, combine milk and butter.

2. Bring to a boil.

3. Mix a medium bowl, combine eggs, sugar, cornstarch and salt.

4. Slowly whisk 1 c.

5. hot milk mix.

6. into egg.

7. Gradually whisk egg back to remaining milk mix.

8. Continue to cook, stirring constantly for 5 min.

9. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

10. Allow to cool.
